The Master of Publishing (MP) degree program aims to cultivate high-level, applied, interdisciplinary, and globally oriented professionals who possess both moral integrity and professional competence. Graduates of this program will have a solid grasp of publishing knowledge and skills, a broad knowledge base, and the ability to integrate language, literature, media, and foreign language expertise to address practical issues in the publishing industry. They will be well-equipped to meet the needs of regional economic and cultural development in Northeast Asia and the modern publishing industry.
The MP program is supported by a high-quality team of on-campus and professional mentors with extensive experience. The program adopts a “on-campus learning + professional practice” training model and implements a dual-mentor system. Collaborative training bases have been established with 16 publicity and publishing organizations in Jilin Province and media and publishing departments at 8 overseas universities, providing students with comprehensive internship opportunities and academic exchanges. Relying on the “Jilin Provincial Research Institute for Publishing International Exchange and Cooperation,” jointly established by JISU and the Jilin Provincial Press and Publication Bureau, the program emphasizes the distinctive features of “publishing internationalization” and “multilingual publishing.” Leveraging the advantages of both domestic and international “dual bases,” the program cultivates specialized talent who are proficient in both publishing and foreign languages. Graduates can pursue careers in editing and publishing, book distribution, and related roles in publishing departments. They may also work in cultural promotion, cultural industry management, and creative roles in cultural communication, or take on positions in government agencies involving secretarial work and publicity.
