The MTA degree program was approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council in 2020 and enrolled their first cohort of students in 2021. The program has maintained steady growth in enrollment while striving for excellence in education, achieving a 100% employment rate for graduates.
The program adopts a dual-mentor system involving both on-campus and professional supervisors. They are supported by a well-structured and appropriately sized faculty team with rich teaching experience and strong professional expertise.
The program is oriented toward regional cooperation in Northeast Asia, aligned with the national strategy of “Comprehensive Revitalization of Northeast China,” and tailored to the latest demands of regional tourism industry development. Leveraging JISU’s applied and internationalized educational positioning and its distinctive integration of culture and tourism, the program consolidates the school’s disciplinary strengths, with a particular focus on cultural and ice-snow tourism. It consistently cultivates high-level, applied talent with both international and local characteristics.
The program continues to deepen the reform of the industry-education integration and collaborative talent cultivation model. It has established close partnerships with over 10 off-campus practice bases, including Changbai Mountain Tourism Co., Ltd. and Changbai Mountain Wanda International Resort, to jointly develop a distinctive “Four Alignments and Four Co-Constructions” ice-snow tourism talent cultivation system. Through school-enterprise collaboration and mutual empowerment, remarkable achievements have been made. In the past three years, the joint application by JISU and enterprises for the “Changbai Mountain Tourism Co., Ltd. Graduate Workstation” was approved as a provincial-level graduate workstation. The exploration and practice of the “Four Alignments and Four Co-Constructions” ice-snow tourism talent cultivation model won the third prize in the Jilin Provincial Teaching Achievement Awards. The “International Ice-Snow Tourism Industry-Education Integration Graduate Joint Training Base” was selected as one of the first batch of provincial industry-education integration graduate joint training bases. Additionally, the case of deep university-enterprise collaboration in cultivating ice-snow tourism talent was recognized as an outstanding example of universities serving the “One Core, Six Duals” high-quality development strategy and an excellent case of universities contributing to the revitalization of Jilin.
Building on this foundation, the MTA program has established an integrated “Industry-Education-Learning-Research” applied talent cultivation system, where teaching promotes learning, learning promotes research, research promotes industry, industry promotes research, and research promotes teaching. This system has gradually improved the quality of talent cultivation and highlighted the distinctive features of the program.
