On June 26, the 200-day countdown to the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade and the “Chasing Dream Ice and Snow, Blooming Youth; Forever Young, Towards the Future” themed theatrical performance of Jilin International Studies University (JISU) were held at the Shiqiao Building Auditorium.
Domestic and international students gathered together, expressing their fervent expectations and best wishes for the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade through poetry recitations, dramas, instrumental performances, song and dance, and other artistic forms.
In the lead-up to the event, a graduation message campaign titled “Youth to the Mountains and Seas, Ice-Snow to Glory” was held. JISU students eagerly voiced their affection for Changchun and cheered for the Winter Universiade.

Russian student Maria reciting “A 200‑Word Love Letter to Changchun”.
In her Chinese‑language love letter, Maria, a student from Russia, wrote: “During my studies at JISU, Changchun has long become my warm second hometown. I deeply love the romantic charm of Changchun’s snowy landscapes—after snowfalls, Jingyuetan is covered in pure white, and many people enjoy themselves on the frozen surface of Nanhu Park; the entire city turns into a beautiful fairy‑tale world. With the 2027 Winter Universiade soon to be held in Changchun, and inspired by the resonant slogan ‘Pursuing Ice‑Snow Dreams, Youth Pledge to the Future,’ I am full of pride as a Jilin Ice‑Snow Promotion Ambassador. JISU has taught me to master foreign languages and tell China’s stories well; everyone on campus is a volunteer, and this spirit of enthusiasm permeates every street and alley of Changchun. Palace Museum of the Puppet Manchukuo boasts a long history, Changchun Movie Wonderland is full of fun, and Guilin Road is brimming with warm, bustling local life. There is beautiful ice and snow here, as well as friendly and warm‑hearted locals. I wish to become a little bridge between Russia and China, carrying the volunteer spirit, and share the beauty of Changchun with my Russian friends. I wish the Winter Universiade a complete success, and may young people from all over the world chase their ice‑snow dreams here. Changchun, I love you!”
Liu Xinyu, a Portuguese major student, reciting “A Love Letter to Changchun”.
Liu Xinyu, a third‑year Portuguese major student, composed her love letter to Changchun in Portuguese. She said with deep emotion: “As a Winter Universiade volunteer, I will use language as a bridge to showcase Changchun’s unique ice‑snow splendor to young athletes from all five continents, to speak of the city’s profound cultural heritage, and to tell moving stories of Changchun. With youthful vigour, I will practice JISU’s bridging spirit of ‘connecting China and the world, serving the motherland,’ so that the world may hear Changchun’s voice and see China’s warmth.”

To foster a favorable public atmosphere marked by widespread anticipation, attention, participation, and dedication to the Winter Universiade, Jilin International Studies University has launched a series of publicity campaigns centered on the theme of “Winter Universiade City, Ice‑Snow Changchun, Youthful Gala.” Leveraging its distinctive foreign‑language education and the synergy between Chinese and international students and faculty, the university has organized these activities to showcase youthful vitality, enhance comprehensive competencies, and ignite patriotic enthusiasm. On the occasion of the 200‑day countdown to the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade, the university held events such as an intangible cultural heritage experience titled “Ice‑Snow Genes in Folk Customs” for Chinese and international students, a multilingual submission campaign for “A 200‑Word Love Letter to Changchun,” and student club performances. These activities enabled students to personally appreciate the charm of ice‑snow culture and to share the stories of the Changchun Winter Universiade with a wider audience.
