Recently, the 2026 China-Korea (Changchun) Future Automotive Industry Cooperation Promotion Meeting was held in Changchun. Jilin International Studies University (JISU) selected 20 students from the School of Oriental Languages and the Graduate School of Translation and Interpreting to provide full-range translation services throughout the event, ensuring its smooth operation and earning unanimous praise from the organizers and exhibitors.

Co-hosted by the Changchun Municipal People’s Government and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), the event focused on cutting-edge fields such as new energy vehicles, intelligent driving, core components, and electric drive systems, providing a professional platform for exchange and cooperation between Chinese and Korean automotive companies in terms of industry connectivity, business negotiations, and resource sharing.

During the event, JISU volunteers were primarily responsible for interpretation during China-Korea corporate negotiations, on-site communication coordination, meeting document compilation, and recording negotiation content. With their solid language proficiency, they successfully completed the foreign-related volunteer service tasks with high quality, demonstrating excellent professional competence and a commendable team spirit. Hua Jingyan, a postgraduate student in the Korean Translation (Written) program at the School of Oriental Languages, remarked, “This volunteer service experience honed my skills in overall management and coordination coordination. It allowed me to apply what I learned in the classroom to practical business communication scenarios, further enhancing my language application abilities. Moving forward, I will continue to refine my language and professional skills and devote myself to foreign-related exchange practices with even greater enthusiasm.” Zhang Xinwei, a postgraduate student in the Korean Translation (Interpretation) program at the Graduate School of Translation and Interpreting, stated, “Through this event, I deeply realized that translation volunteers serve as a bridge for communication between the two countries. Every accurate interpretation and every smooth connection helps build a solid linguistic foundation for industrial cooperation. I will continue to strengthen my professional capabilities and actively engage in international exchange work, contributing positively to China-Korea friendly relations.”

This event fully demonstrated the university’s capacity and proficiency in providing foreign-related volunteer services. The University Youth League Committee will continue to leverage various international events and economic and trade exchange activities to build professional practice platforms for students. Adhering to the principle of empowering growth through practice, the committee will guide students to further refine their professional skills and demonstrate youthful responsibility on the stage of foreign-related exchanges, contributing JISU’s strength to Jilin Province's opening-up and international economic and trade cooperation.
