On April 24, the Korean Language and Culture Academic Seminar and the Teacher-Student Meeting of the Korean Language Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education Program were held at Jilin International Studies University (JISU). Participants included relevant college and program directors from Busan University of Foreign Studies, Korean language education experts, representatives of the KFeSchool project, dispatched teachers from the cooperative program, and student representatives from Korean language education majors, along with JISU’s Korean language faculty and students of the cooperative program.
This was the first thematic seminar and teacher-student exchange held since the two universities established the “Korean Language and Culture Center,” centering on Korean language education and talent cultivation in the Sino-foreign cooperative program.
The Korean Language and Culture Academic Seminar featured in-depth discussions on topics including Korean language and culture education, cultivation of Korean language professionals, construction and application of KFeSchool online educational resources, and the operational mechanism of the Sino-foreign cooperative program. Discussions also covered curriculum articulation, resource sharing, student support, and expansion of international exchanges. Subsequently, the Teacher-Student Meeting of the Korean Language Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education Program was held. Professor Jeong Myeong-sook, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at Busan University of Foreign Studies, Director of the Korean Language and Culture Education Institute, and Head of the Korean Language Education Program of KFe-School, introduced the distinctive features of Busan University of Foreign Studies, the strengths of its Korean language education major, pathways for students to study in Korea, and future development directions. Representatives of teachers and students from both sides engaged in interactive exchanges on topics such as studying and living in Korea, language learning methods, cultural difference experiences, and professional development planning.
This event further deepened exchanges in the field of Korean language and culture education. The university will continue to leverage the Korean Language and Culture Center and the Korean Language Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education Program to deepen resource sharing, faculty exchange, and student exchanges, promote the solid and in-depth development of Sino-Korean university cooperation, and cultivate more versatile foreign language talents who serve people-to-people exchanges and regional opening-up development.
