In the Chinese Cultural Workshop courses, Russian students learned to sing Chinese songs and experienced Chinese calligraphy, paper-cutting, tea art, Hanfu (traditional costume), and other activities, gaining a vivid appreciation of the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture.
Beyond the classroom, the Russian students visited the Jilin Science and Technology Museum to witness the power of China’s technological development; they went to the Panda House at the Northeast Tiger Park to see the adorable giant pandas; and they explored the “The Hill (Zhe You Shan)” shopping mall, experiencing the close integration of modern cultural tourism with local Jilin culture.
Notably, on April 5, which was Qingming Festival, the Russian students, accompanied by postgraduate students majoring in International Chinese Language Education, went for a spring outing at Jingyuetan National Forest Park. They also learned to recite the ancient poem “Qingming”, gaining a deep understanding of the cultural connotations of this traditional Chinese festival. The activity received extensive coverage from major media outlets including China Daily, China News Service, China National Radio, and Cailian News from Jilin Daily.
At the closing ceremony, the Russian students performed Chinese songs for the teachers and students in attendance. The university leaders presented each Russian student with a certificate of completion for the study camp. The Russian teachers and students expressed that participating in this camp not only improved their Chinese language skills and deepened their understanding of Chinese culture, but also helped them forge precious friendships. They stated that they would continue to serve as envoys of SinoRussian cultural exchange and carry forward the friendship between the two countries.

This study camp is a vivid example of deepening educational cooperation between Chinese and Russian universities and promoting people-to-people exchanges in a substantive and practical manner. The university will take this opportunity to further expand educational cooperation, enrich exchange formats, encourage more interaction and mutual learning between Chinese and international young people, and continue to promote the high-quality development of international education.
