From January 1 to 5, the 24th China Changchun Jingyuetan Vasaloppet International Ski Festival was held at Jingyuetan National Forest Park. As one of the world’s largest cross-country skiing events, this year’s festival, co-hosted by the Jilin Provincial Sports Bureau and the Changchun Municipal People’s Government, received dual international certification from the International Ski Federation (FIS) and the Worldloppet Ski Federation. The event attracted numerous ski enthusiasts from over 30 countries and regions. At the invitation of the organizers, 124 volunteers from Jilin International Studies University (JISU) leveraged their language expertise to provide high-quality services to international participants, earning unanimous recognition from both the athletes and the organizers. Foreign competitors remarked, “The volunteers here are professional and enthusiastic. Their service made us feel the warmth of China and made this race even better.”

To ensure high-quality volunteer services for the event, the University Youth League Committee, in collaboration with the event organizing committee, conducted skills training sessions. These sessions outlined key service points and, based on the volunteers' professional backgrounds and experience, established several specialized teams, including the International Reception Group, Competition Office, On-site Group, Media Group, and Logistics Group. With a strong sense of responsibility and a positive, energetic spirit, the volunteers worked efficiently in their respective roles, providing dedicated, point-to-point professional services that ensured the smooth running of the event.

This volunteer service initiative is a significant reflection of the university’s efforts to leverage its disciplinary strengths and advance practical education. The JISU volunteers embedded the volunteer spirit of “dedication, friendship, mutual assistance, and progress” into every detail of the snowy competition. They expressed their commitment to continuing to carry forward their passion and sense of responsibility on more volunteer stages, using their youthful energy to spread warmth and fulfill the responsibilities of the new era.
