Recently, to ensure a quality travel experience for passengers during the peak winter tourism season, the Changchun Bureau of Culture and Tourism, in collaboration with local universities, organized a cultural tourism volunteer team. Jilin International Studies University (JISU) selected 30 student volunteers to provide services at key transportation hubs including Changchun Railway Station, Changchun West Railway Station, and Longjia International Airport, adding warmth and vibrancy to the city’s cultural tourism offerings with their professionalism and enthusiasm.

During the service period, the volunteers, clad in red vests and distinctive “ginseng hats,” shuttled continuously through the bustling hub areas from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In response to visitors’ inquiries about transfers, route guidance, and sightseeing recommendations, they maintained warm smiles and patient answers at all times, proactively offering to help with luggage and direct passengers to their destinations. Their attentive services eased the sense of unfamiliarity and travel difficulties for passengers. “I felt Changchun’s warmth the moment I got off the plane! The volunteer’s explanations were so clear — it immediately put me at ease,” praised a tourist from southern China.
Zhao Hanyu, an English Interpreting major, held a special aspiration during his service: “I hope to use what I have learned to serve tourists from all over the country and introduce them to our beautiful Changchun — Jingyuetan Lake, the various ski resorts, Xinmin Street... There is so much worth telling about Changchun.” For him, volunteer service is not only about helping others but also about forging an emotional bond between the city and visitors from afar. “Throughout my service, I have felt the longing that out-of-town tourists have for Changchun, as well as the deep affection that returning Changchun natives hold for their homeland,” Zhao said.
During the service period, the volunteers also performed lively flash mob dances such as “Da Dongbei,” using upbeat rhythms and beaming smiles to convey the joy and warmth of Changchun to travelers from all corners.
The volunteer service was jointly organized by the School of International Culture and Tourism and the University Youth League Committee, creating a platform that integrates “professional practice with volunteer service” for students. The JISU volunteers unanimously expressed their commitment to dedicating 60 days of perseverance and enthusiasm to inject youthful energy into Changchun’s cultural tourism services, and to practice the volunteer spirit of “dedication, friendship, mutual assistance, and progress” through concrete actions — serving society and bringing warmth to others!
