On December 23, the “Chinese Bridge” Exchange Program for American Educators, hosted by Jilin International Studies University (JISU), came to a successful conclusion.
As the first cultural exchange event held by the first local Chinese teacher training center in the United States — co-established by JISU and Saint Peter’s University — the program aims to support the implementation of the “50,000 in Five Years” Initiative for American Youth to Visit China. It also seeks to deepen young American educators’ understanding of Chinese culture and promote cooperation and exchanges between young Chinese and American teachers.
The event drew attention and coverage from media outlets including China Daily Online, Jilin’s overseas social media accounts, and China News Service.

The thirteen visiting American educators come from eight educational institutions, namely Saint Peter’s University, Manhattanville College, Vanderbilt University, Englewood Public Schools, Golden Gate Charter School, Woodbridge Public Schools, North Bergen High School, and Enable Institute. They hold various positions covering teaching, research, and administrative management.
During their visit, the American teachers toured the International Exchange Center of JISU, the Global Village of JISU (the UNESCO “World Multicultural Education Center”), and the University Library. They also visited iFLYTEK Co., Ltd., an off-campus practice teaching base of the University, to learn about the deep integration of AI technology with talent development. They visited the FAW Hongqi Cultural Exhibition Hall, the Changchun History and Culture Museum, and the Museum of the Imperial Palace of “Manchukuo”, and explored The Hill, a distinctive shopping complex, to experience the charm of Changchun’s urban culture. They also experienced Chinese tea ceremony and hanfu (traditional Chinese clothing), learned to make candied hawthorns, and joined ice and snow cultural activities, fully experiencing the regional cultural charm of Northeast China. The American teachers also traveled to Beijing, where they visited cultural landmarks including the Palace Museum, Tian’anmen Square, the National Stadium (Bird’s Nest), the National Aquatics Center (Water Cube), and the Temple of Heaven.
