The Professional Master Degree of Education program covers fields such as Educational Administration, Preschool Education, Primary Education, Mental Health Education, Vocational and Technical Education, Subject Teaching (Ideological and Political Education), Subject Teaching (Chinese), and Subject Teaching (English). This program aims to cultivate highly qualified full-time teachers and administrators for preschool education institutions, primary and secondary schools, and secondary vocational and technical schools, with a solid foundation in theoretical knowledge and exceptional professional skills.
The program is supported by a faculty team with a reasonable structure in terms of age, professional titles, and academic qualifications. The team is characterized by strong practical guidance capabilities and a high level of international expertise. Most faculty members have participated in short- to medium-term academic exchanges, visits, or further studies in countries such as Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, and New Zealand, as well as at renowned domestic universities. This provides a solid foundation for enriching students’ educational philosophies and broadening their international perspectives. The program adheres to the talent cultivation orientation of “applied, interdisciplinary, and globally oriented,” and upholds the educational philosophy of “collaborative education with a focus on competence.” By integrating theory with practice and combining on-campus and off-campus experiences, the program has established a high-level applied talent cultivation model.
JISU’s distinctive feature in cultivating applied talent is particularly evident in the practical teaching component. The school actively implements the requirements of the National Education Professional Degree Graduate Education Steering Committee for centralized internships and vigorously develops practical bases and graduate workstations. Currently, there are 29 jointly established practical bases and 4 provincial-level graduate workstations in collaboration with renowned institutions in Jilin Province, including the Jilin Provincial Academy of Educational Sciences, the Jingyue Experimental School Affiliated with Northeast Normal University, Changchun Jingyue First Experimental School, and Jilin Province Second Experimental High-Tech School. The program extensively involves industry mentors in talent cultivation, providing effective pathways for students to develop solid practical skills and professional identity. With the guidance of theory and the support of practice, the program has achieved remarkable results in talent development.
In the past two years, Master of Education (Professional Degree) students have secured 36 provincial-level research projects and 141 university-level projects. They have published 150 academic papers, including 4 SSCI-indexed papers, and 10 theses have been awarded the title of Outstanding Master’s Thesis in Jilin Province. Students have won 21 awards at various levels, including 1 second prize and 4 third prizes in the National “Tianjiabing Cup” Full-Time Master of Education Professional Degree Teaching Skills Competition.
