Jun 30, 2026 02:24 PM

On June 29th, the launch ceremony of the “Volunteer Language Ability Enhancement Project” for the 200-day countdown to the 33rd Changchun Winter Universiade was held in the Library Report Hall. Persons in charge of the Publicity Department, the Youth League Committee, and the School of Volunteer Service Management attended the event. More than 200 volunteer representatives for the Changchun Winter Universiade participated in the activity.

At the event, the School of Volunteer Service Management released the implementation plan for the “Volunteer Language Ability Enhancement Project”. Abandoning the single language teaching mode, the project conducts systematic training centering on pronunciation and intonation, professional sports terminology, cross-cultural communication, and common phrases for volunteer services. It adopts immersive and scenario-based interactive teaching and is equipped with foreign teachers for full-process practical training guidance, comprehensively solidifying the volunteers’ language foundation and cultivating a volunteer service team possessing both foreign language proficiency and cultural literacy.

The event also released the selection notice for volunteers for the Changchun 2027 FISU World Conference. As an international top-tier sports academic exchange event held concurrently with the Winter Universiade, the FISU World Conference builds a platform for ideological dialogue for young students. It recruits young volunteers from the whole university, encouraging students to demonstrate the thinking and responsibility of Chinese youth to experts from various countries with their professional knowledge.

At the event, foreign teacher SHIVA brought a live language training open class. Through interactive drills and situational dialogues, he broke down language expression barriers, enabling volunteers to dare to speak up and express themselves calmly in real communication scenarios.

Participating volunteers expressed that they would cherish the opportunity for systematic language training, actively learn Chinese and foreign cultural knowledge, effectively improve their foreign language communication abilities, and prepare well for the volunteer service work of the Winter Universiade.

Next, the university will continue to promote normalized language practical training, guide all volunteers to act as bridges for Chinese-foreign communication, stand on the international stage with fluent expression and confident postures, vividly tell China’s stories and Changchun’s ice and snow stories well, and showcase the good demeanor of Chinese youth in the new era.
