The “Bridge of Voice” Choir performs at the music gala
Staff Reporter – The “Bridge of Voice” Choir of Jilin International Studies University (JISU) won the First Prize in the university category at the 4th Changchun Citizen Chorus Season. The award was presented during the “Harmony Connects the World, Ice and Snow Shines on Changchun” themed event – marking the 200-day countdown to the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade – held at Changchun International Convention and Exhibition Center on June 29, where the choir was invited to perform on stage.
The event, closely tied to the critical 200-day countdown milestone, leveraged public chorus as a vehicle to weave together local cultural heritage, youthful vitality, and international friendship, igniting a city-wide enthusiasm for the upcoming Winter Universiade through a grand cultural feast for the public.
JISU’s “Bridge of Voice” Choir sent 40 members to perform the choral piece “Try Everything”. With solid professional singing skills and a stage presence that combined international vision and youthful energy, the performance fully demonstrated the university's educational ethos of integrating Chinese and foreign cultures and embracing diversity and inclusiveness.
This award not only affirms the university’s achievements in aesthetic education but also serves as a vivid practice of JISU youth contributing to the city’s winter sports gala and showcasing the vibrancy of international youth. The university will continue to leverage its distinctive art societies to build more platforms for expression, guiding Chinese and international students to root themselves in Changchun while reaching out to the world. Through the arts, they will tell the city’s ice-and-snow stories and convey the power of youthful endeavor, fostering a rich cultural atmosphere for the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade and cultivating a campus cultural identity that combines foreign language characteristics with youthful dynamism.
