On July 3, the inaugural meeting of the Jilin Provincial Federation of Social Organizations was held at the Lecture Hall of Shiqiao Building, JISU. Attending the event were Du Wenge, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director-General of the Jilin Provincial Department of Civil Affairs; Tang Yan, Vice Chairwoman of the Jilin Federation of Industry and Commerce; Bao Guoqing, Level II Bureau Rank Official of the Jilin Provincial Department of Education; Wang Yuxiu, Director of the Jilin Provincial Talent Exchange and Development Center; Sun Yulin, Member of the Party Leadership Group of the Jilin Provincial Department of Civil Affairs; and Qin He, President of JISU. Chairpersons and presidents of the federation’s member organizations also attended. President Qin He was elected as the first president of the Jilin Provincial Federation of Social Organizations.

Deputy Director-General Du Wenge delivered a speech. He pointed out that in order to promote the comprehensive revitalization of Jilin, government action and market vitality are indispensable, but the broad participation and joint governance of social forces are also crucial. At present, the number of social organizations in the province has grown to 11,969. These organizations are rooted at the grassroots level, serving the people, and connecting all sectors, playing important roles in promoting economic and social development, providing public services, participating in social governance, and fostering social harmony. The establishment of the Jilin Provincial Federation of Social Organizations marks a new stage of systematic development, hub leadership, and high-quality growth for social organizations in Jilin. It will surely become a solid bridge linking government, market, and society, and an important platform for serving the comprehensive revitalization of Jilin. He expressed the hope that the Federation would focus on its functional positioning, strive to become an important window showcasing Jilin’s image, a key platform for domestic and international exchange, and a vital carrier for Jilin’s revitalization. The Federation should set an example in political guidance, rule of law, innovation, and contribution to Jilin, making new and greater contributions to achieving breakthroughs in Jilin’s comprehensive revitalization within the process of Chinese modernization.

As the first president of the Federation, President Qin He delivered a speech. She stated that the Jilin Provincial Federation of Social Organizations shoulders the important mission of guiding the connotative development of social organizations across the province and contributing to Jilin’s revitalization. The Federation should actively integrate into the overall framework of high-quality development in the province and give full play to the unique advantages of social organizations. First, it should serve as a “new engine” for economic development, activating new momentum for industrial upgrading; second, it should act as a “caring provider” of people’s wellbeing, building a new pattern of service supply; third, it should function as a “bonding agent” for social harmony, creating a new landscape of collaborative governance. Under the strong leadership of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and the provincial government, and with the effective guidance of the Provincial Department of Civil Affairs, the Federation will unite efforts, forge ahead with determination, and jointly write a new chapter in the high-quality development of social organizations in Jilin.
