At the symposium, experts systematically reviewed the historical evolution of China’s neighboring diplomacy and conducted in-depth analyses of the connotations and innovations of its regional diplomacy strategy in the new era. Their research covered Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, and the post-Soviet region, providing substantial theoretical and practical references for China's comprehensive peripheral diplomacy. Furthermore, experts held in-depth discussions on issues including the building of international discourse power, the co-construction of discourse in China-Africa people-to-people exchanges, and the impact of digital society on the construction of the international discourse system.
The successful symposium is of great theoretical value and practical significance for promoting innovation in the theory and practice of China’s neighboring diplomacy and for enhancing China’s discourse power and influence within the international discourse system. It has also injected new vitality into area studies and foreign exchanges and cooperation in Jilin Province.

Neighborhood diplomacy is a key component of China’s foreign strategy. JISU has long focused on national neighboring-diplomacy needs, converting language competence into diplomatic soft power and discursive influence, and actively participating in the shift from “passive response” to “proactive shaping” in building China’s international discourse system. With the “Global Village”—a symbol of multicultural integration—as its physical platform for advancing area studies and disciplinary development, JISU has conducted a series of exploratory and innovative studies on national-condition surveys, historical-document translation, Chinese-culture outbound communication, and China-foreign cultural comparisons in Northeast Asia, Central Asia & the Middle East, and Central & Eastern Europe, thereby providing intellectual support for national diplomatic strategy, high-quality development in Jilin, and the province’s opening-up to Northeast-Asian regional cooperation.
