Recently, the Division of Global Cooperation and Exchange and the School of International Culture and Tourism at Jilin International Studies University held an online meeting with the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage in Uzbekistan, inaugurating a new phase of collaboration between the two institutions. The meeting was chaired by Dean Wang Haiyan of School of International Culture and Tourism, and attended by Vice President Wang Zhiguo, Director Song Dandan of Division of Global Cooperation and Exchange, and other key representatives.

Located in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, the SRIUTCH offers comprehensive undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs, with a focus on training professionals in tourism, culture, economic management, and regional studies for Central Asia and countries along the historic Silk Road.

At the meeting, Vice President Wang Zhiguo extended a warm welcome to Vice President Zou Tongqian of the Uzbek university, and introduced JISU’s distinctive educational strengths and its ongoing international exchange initiatives. Dean Wang Haiyan then outlined her school’s current cooperative and exchange activities, expressed enthusiasm for joint talent development, and emphasized the importance of broadening students’ international perspectives and language proficiency.

This symposium has opened up numerous avenues for partnership, helping to drive high-quality development in higher education, enrich student resources, and expand platforms for cultural exchange and research collaboration. Looking ahead, both institutions will maintain close communication, explore further cooperation opportunities, and work together to cultivate high-quality, practice-oriented, interdisciplinary, and outward-looking talent.
