Apr 8, 2025 04:38 PM

On April 8th, Jilin International Studies University (JISU) and the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of Russia jointly hosted a themed debate competition titled “Multilateralism and National Interests: The Position of BRICS Countries in a Multipolar World”. The event adopted an online-offline hybrid format, with participants from both sides engaging in in-depth discussions on topics such as BRICS in global governance, China-Russia cooperation, and financial collaboration.

During the debate, student representatives from both universities clashed over four key topics: “The Role of BRICS Countries in Global Governance”, “China-Russia Cooperation and Tension”, “Financial Cooperation”, and “The Effectiveness of BRICS Countries in Eurasia”. They articulated their perspectives from various angles including the international order, geopolitics, energy cooperation, regional security, and digital currency trends. The students shared that this “cross-border classmates” interactive model broke down geographical and cultural barriers, enabling a deep integration of theoretical knowledge and real-world case studies.
