On December 20th, the “Jimei Study Camp,” a Sino-American youth exchange program sponsored by the China Scholarship Council and jointly organized by Jilin International Studies University(JISU)and Saint Peter’s University in the United States, officially commenced. This 15-day camp includes a 12-day study and exchange program in Changchun. From December 21 to 25, the American teachers and students visited the Jingyuetan Forest Park and Changchun Ice and Snow World to experience the unique charm of ice and snow culture in Jilin. They also toured the Changchun Zoological and Botanical Park, the FAW Hongqi Cultural Exhibition Hall, and the Siberian Tiger Park, immersing themselves in the urban culture and natural landscapes of Changchun. Additionally, they participated in the Chinese Culture Workshop at JISU, where they engaged in activities such as Chinese paper cutting, movable type printing, Chinese tea culture, and Tai Chi fan, gaining a deeper appreciation for the profound heritage of traditional Chinese culture. The American participants remarked that through these firsthand experiences, they gained a richer understanding of Chinese culture and arts. They were particularly amazed by the beautiful ice and snow of Jilin and deeply moved by the friendly and enthusiastic faculty and students at JISU. They look forward to more surprises in the upcoming journey of their study camp.
