During the event, the international students gained an in-depth understanding of the organizing philosophy, event categories, and urban service support for the Changchun Winter Universiade. They actively participated in interactive activities such as winter sports trivia quizzes and simulated torch relay experiences, and engaged in friendly exchanges with students from other universities. The students expressed that this was their first time witnessing the preparations for a major international sporting event up close. They were deeply impressed by Changchun’s unique charm as an “Ice and Snow City” and the city’s enthusiasm for hosting the Games. Many expressed their wish to become volunteers for the Winter Universiade, contributing their youthful energy to this international sports gala through concrete actions.

Organizing international students to participate in volunteer service activities for major international sporting events is an important initiative of the university to advance internationalized education and enhance exchanges between Chinese and international youth. The SIE will continue to encourage and support international students’ active participation, taking the Changchun Winter Universiade as an opportunity to deepen their understanding of China’s capacity in organizing major sporting events and to strengthen their sense of belonging and identification with their second hometown—Changchun, Jilin.
