On January 11th, a remote Polish language training program was held for JISU Polish language teachers, organized by the Institute of Literary Research at the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAS), which marked the formal launch of the project titled “The Contemporary Silk Road: Promoting the Dissemination and Advancement of the Polish Language and Culture in China.” The project was jointly applied for by JISU’s School of Central and Eastern European Languages and the PAS Institute of Literary Research and has been approved by the Polish National Commission for Higher Education.
“The Contemporary Silk Road: Promoting the Dissemination and Advancement of the Polish Language and Culture in China” project aims to deepen cultural exchanges between China and Poland, facilitating the spread and development of Polish language and culture in China. The remote Polish language training is a crucial component of this project. Running through the end of March 2025, the structured and specialized training will enhance the linguistic proficiency and teaching skills of JISU’s Polish language instructors.
On the day of the training, there was an overwhelming response from the participating teachers. Attendees noted that the curriculum was substantive and highly interactive, deepening their understanding of the Polish language and providing new perspectives for future instruction and dissemination of Polish language and culture. Beyond training, the PAS Institute of Literary Research will collaborate with JISU faculty on developing tailored Polish language textbooks for JISU students. Additional activities include campus visits, collaborative research, and jointly-held academic conferences.
The initiation of this collaborative project signifies a significant milestone in academic cooperation between the JISU School of Central and Eastern European Languages and the PAS Institute of Literary Research. Leveraging this opportunity, the School will further strengthen international exchanges and partnerships, thereby broadening the platform for enhancing Sino-Polish cultural ties and advancing educational cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
