JISU began enrolling undergraduate students in French in 2003, making it the first French program in Jilin Province. In 2016, it started offering master degree program in French Interpreting, and in 2021, it added Translation into the program. Through the collective efforts of faculty and students, the French program has been recognized as a distinctive specialty during the 12th Five-Year Plan period in Jilin Province, a provincial brand specialty, and has been rated as a provincial-level and national-level first-class program. Leveraging the school’s strengths in international education, the French program has established cooperative relationships with nine French universities, including Université Lumière Lyon 2, Université Catholique de Lyon, Université de Nantes, and Université Paris Diderot (Paris 7), offering exchange programs, joint bachelor-master degree programs, paid internships, and study tours. Over the past three years, more than 50 students have been sent to France for further studies. This event marks another close collaboration between JISU and the French Consulate General in Shenyang, creating favorable conditions for advancing the development of the French and related programs, improving the quality of talent cultivation, and accelerating the process of internationalization.
