On October 24, Kathryn Johnson, director of the Confucius Institute at Saint Cloud State University and other prominent guests visited our school and developed a deal with us on a sign language educational cooperation. Wang Jie, assistant principal and director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Department, Chen Cunjun, president of the Advanced Translation School, Xiao Xi, director of the Language and Culture Practice Center, etc., received the visitors.
The representatives from both sides had in-depth communication and exchange on the cooperation of sign language education. Both sides agreed to carry out high-standard immersion education cooperation in American Sign Language from the optional courses, and develop professional cooperation in sign language education on this basis. Our school also exchanged views with Saint Cloud State University on further cooperation in other fields.
Saint Cloud State University, a four-year public university in the United States, is the largest school in Minnesota's education system. Founded in 1869, Saint Cloud State University is the first university in Minnesota to offer a PhD degree, with degrees in business school, education, school of humanities and arts, school of science and engineering, academy of social sciences, graduate school, continuing education center and international student center.
This negotiation has promoted the communication and cooperation on the sign language education project between our school and Saint Cloud State University, which is also of great significance to the construction of relevant courses and professional development of the sign language translation major in our school.
